We recruit qualified expert witnesses across psychology, psychiatry, neurology, forensic science, CCTV and digital forensics, and drug and alcohol. No registration fee, no commission, non-exclusive panel membership.
Expert Witness UK recruits qualified specialists with demonstrable court experience and current registration body membership. We do not recruit academics or clinicians without prior expert witness experience, as our law firm clients require experts who understand their duty to the court under CrimPR Rule 19, CPR Part 35, and FPR Part 25.
The minimum requirements for all disciplines are: current registration body membership, professional indemnity insurance adequate for court work, and prior experience providing expert evidence in criminal, family, civil, or immigration proceedings. Discipline-specific requirements are set out in the section below.
Panel membership provides a consistent source of case referrals without the time and cost of marketing. We handle all administrative aspects of the instruction process, allowing you to focus on the clinical work.
We work with registered law firms and chambers across England and Wales. Panel experts receive a steady stream of case referrals matched to their discipline, geographic availability, and capacity — without any marketing effort on their part.
We handle all administrative aspects of the instruction process: initial contact with the solicitor, scheduling, letter of instruction review, and deadline management. You focus on the assessment and report; we manage the logistics.
There is no registration fee, no listing fee, and no commission. You invoice the instructing solicitor directly at the agreed rate. Expert Witness UK earns its fee from the law firm, not from you.
Panel membership demonstrates that you have been independently vetted for qualifications, registration body membership, court experience, and CrimPR Rule 19 compliance — a credential that supports your professional profile.
You control your availability and capacity. Indicate the number of instructions you can accept per month, your geographic range, and any periods of unavailability. We match referrals to your stated capacity.
Panel membership is non-exclusive. You are free to accept instructions from other sources, including direct instructions from solicitors, other agencies, and your own professional network.
We recruit across six specialist disciplines. Click each discipline to view the specific requirements and the types of assessment most frequently instructed.
Every applicant goes through a four-stage vetting process before joining the panel. This ensures that our law firm clients receive experts who are qualified, compliant, and ready to provide court-ready evidence.
Our vetting team reviews your application form, CV, and registration body details. We confirm that your qualifications and experience meet the minimum requirements for your stated discipline.
We verify your current registration with the relevant body (HCPC, GMC, or equivalent) and confirm that your professional indemnity insurance is current and adequate for court work.
We assess your familiarity with CrimPR Rule 19, CPR Part 35, and FPR Part 25 as applicable to your discipline. For new expert witnesses, we provide a compliance briefing document.
Successful applicants are added to the panel and begin receiving case referrals. You will receive a welcome pack with our instruction process, fee schedule guidance, and contact details.
